Where we are
A new foundation, laying its first course.
We received our 501(c)(3) determination from the IRS in 2023. This is our founding season. We are seating a full board, raising our first funds, and preparing the programs described below.
That means early gifts do the heaviest work. They pay for the first scholarship, the first pallet of school supplies, the first van run to a doctor's appointment. Nothing here is a maintenance budget. Everything here is a beginning.

The Flat Rock Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that works to improve the lives of the most vulnerable populations through a wide range of economic development, educational, and social services programs.

Youth Mentoring
Students in grades 4 through 12 paired with screened, trained adult volunteers, with workshops for parents alongside.
Educational Scholarships
Needs-based awards for students from our community, paid directly to the financial aid office of each recipient's college or university.
Life Skills Workshops
A ten-week course for teens covering budgeting, credit, renting and buying, résumés, and interviewing.
Digital Literacy
Open computer training for children and adults, from first steps through the software people need for work and school.
Elderly Assistance
Care management, transportation, meals, and in-home support that help older neighbors stay in their own homes.
Clothing and Food
Back-to-school supplies, winter coats, holiday food baskets, and Adopt-A-Family at Christmas.
